SUMMARY
We are seeking a strategic Manager of Finance to support our company operated restaurants and our franchise system. This role will focus on enhancing profitability at the unit level by collaborating with cross-functional leaders and franchise owners. The Manager of Finance will lead financial analysis on key operational aspects such as P&L, food cost, labor productivity, aiming to optimize overall system performance. This position works beyond corporate finance, directly engaging with franchisees to develop sustainable growth strategies.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Partner with company operations and franchisees to assess profitability and identify areas for improvement, ensuring alignment with overall financial goals.
  • Analyze P&L statements for both franchise and corporate units, providing actionable recommendations to improve margins and operational efficiency.
  • Conduct food cost and waste analysis, identifying areas to reduce waste and improve cost management across franchise locations.
  • Perform detailed labor analysis, including productivity metrics, wage structures, and staff scheduling, to drive more efficient labor use.
  • Oversee people analytics, such as staffing levels, tenure, and turnover rates, to optimize workforce management and retention.
  • Lead hours of operation analysis, identifying opportunities to improve revenue during peak hours or adjust hours to maximize profitability.
  • Develop and manage financial scorecards and bonus structures for GMs and franchise owners, aligning incentives with performance and profitability goals.
  • Monitor and address negative EBITDA units, working closely with underperforming locations to create turnaround strategies.
  • Manage the quarterly franchisee financials collection and analysis, ensuring timely and accurate data submission for company-wide financial health reviews.
  • Utilize internal tools such as Vena Solutions, Power BI, and SQL to track financial performance, analyze trends, and generate financial reports.
  • Provide strategic financial support to operations, focusing on budgeting, forecasting, and operational improvements.
  • Conduct regular financial health assessments of franchise locations and present key findings to senior leadership.
  • Manage and mentor 2 Financial Analysts, ensuring high-quality analysis and reporting.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership on the development of growth strategies and contribute to long-term business planning.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in finance, with a focus on operations or franchise economics.
  • Expertise in P&L analysis, food cost management, labor productivity, and financial systems.
  • Strong understanding of restaurant operations or experience in the food & beverage industry is a plus.
  • Proven ability to translate complex financial data into insights for non-financial stakeholders.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment focused on driving results.
