Distribution Specialist

PURPOSE OF YOUR WORK

At Checkers & Rally’s we make a difference in people’s lives by serving our Franchisees, Teams, and Guests. This position supports the Supply Chain team with promotional, inventory, distribution, and logistics related management activities.  This position assists with management of Distributor, Supplier and 3rd & 4th Party Logistics Provider relationships to ensure supplier quality and performance to meet both strategic and tactical business goals including strategic sourcing, purchasing, distribution, and logistics activities.

 

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Manages Promotional projects including analysis, evaluation, production planning, logistics, and communication of product forecasts, event details, pricing, food cost, and pertinent information.
  • Manages Inventory such as, but not limited to: product stocking requests, menu changes, system events, tests and limited time offer promotions to ensure continued supply, minimal slow moving items, and obsolete inventory.
  • Attends all Cross Functional Meetings/Executive Product Showings and communicates proactive information and recommendations to Cross Functional teams, Senior Management, as well as Franchise and Company Operations.
  • Conducts bi-weekly conference calls with all distribution partners to ensure Distributors are updated and prepared for events.
  • Responds to day-to-day promotional, inventory, distribution, and logistics needs and documents all issues/challenges ensuring resolution, follow-up, and closure to all topics with all key stake holders, suppliers, distributors, and 3PL’s. 
  • Supports Logistics Management process including pricing, analysis, tracking, data management, lane assignment maintenance.
  • Prepares for and participates in distributor RFP’s, business reviews and assists with distributor transition project management.
  • Proposes and implements processes for improvement.
  • Provides support for managing pricing processes.
  • Compiles, stores, retrieves reporting data to provide for reports and detailed analysis.
  • Performs other tasks and duties as assigned, with or without accommodation.

 

EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS

Prior Experience:

  • Between 2 to 5 years of Foodservice Supply Chain (Distribution, Purchasing, and Logistics) experience required
  • Strong project management experience preferred
  • Microsoft applications (Excel (Intermediate or Expert level preferred), Word, Outlook, & PowerPoint)

 

Education and Training:

 

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required; college degree preferred.
