Quality Assurance Specialist

POSITION SUMMARY: 

At Checkers & Rally’s we make a difference in people’s lives by serving our Franchisees, Teams, and Guests.  The Quality Assrance Specialist is responsible for supporting the Senior Manager of Quality Assurance and Food Safety in the design, development, implementation and execution of all Quality Assurance and Food Safety programs throughout the entire supply chain (i.e. raw materials, manufacturing, processors, storage, and distribution) for all products and restaurants in the Checkers/Rally’s system.

 

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  1. Manages Quality Complaint Hotline through S2G reporting system for Food, Paper, Equipment, Distribution, Services, and Utilities to include documentation, corrective actions and appropriate follow through with suppliers, distributors, restaurants, and corporate and franchise contacts.
  2. Supports Manager with Supplier Approval Vendor Certification process for new suppliers, existing suppliers and potential alternate suppliers of all Checkers/Rally’s food and paper products.
  3. Maintains Approved Supplier List with effective database management of all vendor certifications including third party processing facility audits, corrective actions, required Quality documents, Certificate of Insurance and all documentation required by Checkers/Rally’s Quality Assurance.
  4. Supports Manager with development, implementation, and maintenance of finished product evaluations with outside third party lab using the Product Review Schedule to verify product performance and compliance to established specifications.
  5. Supports Manager with Approved Product List maintaining the development, implementation, and maintenance of product formulas, raw materials specifications and finished product specifications of all food and paper products thru effective database management.  
  6. Supports Manger with Product Approval Process including sample arrangement of delivery/receiving product matches and control sample products.
  7. Supports Manager with specification development for new and existing products.
  8. Supports Manager with the approval and database management of corrugate and/or label proofs for all Checkers/Rally’s food and non-food products.
  9. Assists Manager and R and D/Marketing in maintaining food allergen database of all ingredients and respond to customer inquiries regarding food allergen information when appropriate.
  10. Assists Manager with Checkers/Rally’s, Inc.’s Product Withdrawal and Recall Program by monitoring and communicating resolution of product recalls and/or withdrawals to Operations team as necessary.
  11. Supports Manager with local restaurant visits, lab visits, and/or distribution center visits for product reviews and report quality findings.
  12. Formulates recommendations and communicates regularly with Senior Management, Franchise and Company Operations to ensure continued supplies of our products.
  13. Performs other tasks and duties as assigned, with or without accommodation.

 

EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS

 

Education:

  • Associates Degree preferred or equivalent of experience and education.

Experience:

  • At least one to three years’ experience in Administrative experience, Food Safety/Quality preferred
  • Familiarity with Restaurant or Retail industry Food Safety / Quality functions
  • Microsoft Office Suite.   Access, Excel, Word, Outlook, & Power Point
  • Project Management software is desirable

  • Ability to Travel may be required to attend off-site training, meetings and seminars.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
